All events need small print and here is ours please read and make sure you are happy before you book your place.
The main contact for all things not wire work related is Tabatha, the boss at The Glastonbury Wire Studio. The best way to contact me is by email [email protected]. If you want to speak to me best to email me your number and ill give you a call. I will be taking care of all bookings and finance and all the other organisation aspects such as food and accommodation allocation. Lonely Soldier is the one who will be releasing info on workshops later and together we are the organisers.
1: All bookings need to be made via the booking form found clicking the Book Form link on the Prices and Booking page. Once I have your booking I will email you instructions on how to pay I will also issue you with a ref number which you will need when you make payments so I can track your payments.
2: Preferred payment is through paypal or by bank transfer. Credit and debit cards can also be accepted by paypal invoice. How ever you like to pay we can accommodate it.
3: A £300 deposit is payable for each full booking and this is non refundable.
4: We can offer the option to pay in installments as this makes the total amount more manageable but if you really would prefer to pay the full amount in one go then that can be done at anytime before the 1st of June (Autumn Retreat) and the 1st Dec (Spring Retreat). Just make sure you have your ref number when you make the payment and if you do it by transfer then send me an email to let me know you have done it. This is the same for any payment you make via transfer please let know in an email then I can make sure I get it and ticked it off against your name.
5: Full payment is required by the payment date (as above), cancellations before the payment date will be entitled to a refund of any payments made (not including the deposit) After the payment date there is a 2 week cooling off period where by any cancellation after this date will mean the loss of 50% of the full booking fee, not including the deposit
Monthly installments also possible as usual and subject to the same rules as above.
6: If you cancel after the 2 week cooling off period it gets more complicated, you will loose your fee, we think this is fair as by this point we are all fully committed. If we have reserves then we will ask them if they would like to fill your space or we will re-advertise, or you are welcome to find someone to take your place. They will need to pay the full balance and you will be refunded minus 10% admin fee.
7: We are providing all your food and refreshments for the week starting with a welcome buffet on Friday eve and breakfast on the Thursday you leave. There will be some wine and beer available for the welcoming buffet and you are welcome to purchase additional drinks from the farm shop on site or bring your own. Water, coffee, tea, decaf drinks, juice and squash will be available all day too.
8: Once you have paid your deposit I will send you an email asking for a few more bits of info and this will be the opportunity to let me know about any dietary requirements. We should be able to cater for most but if you are unsure then please get in touch before hand, very extreme allergies such as nuts may require a bit more planning so please do get in touch as early as possible.
9: The work you will be doing will be finalised closer to the event but rest assured that it will be exciting. We make sure we book tutors who we have seen evidence of their work and in some cases their teaching, we choose tutors who have more to offer than just a design, often they have successful businesses, have been working in the industry for many years or come with a unique perspective. All this means that when you come to the retreat you will be working new ways, with tutors who are passionate, knowledgeable and experienced. We cannot guarantee enjoyment but we do everything we can to make a safe and creative environment for everyone.
10: If you wish to bring a husband, wife, partner, friend, sister or brother etc, who will not be taking part in the workshop side of things then that is fine and we have created a supplement that will allow you to do so but we have one requirement and that is that once the days workshops starts that they occupy themselves away from the function room. They can come and have breakfast but once that is cleared away they will have to leave, they can stay on site or go walking etc but they can't join us for lunch, they will just have to fend for themselves and they are not to disturb the workshops until the end of the day. I hope this doesn't sound too harsh but it will be an intensive week and we need to limit the comings and goings from the function room. After the workshop has finished we can all regroup and socialise for the evening meal and the evening after that.
11. We have designed and planned this as a complete retreat. At this stage we are not in a position to offer the workshops without the food or accommodation. We may in the future offer a different format of retreat if all goes well but for this particular event we are only offering the complete package. We do apologise but it will make things more complicated and also a big feature of this week is the full immersion in wire work, to spend time together and away from everyday life.
12. Consider that that this is a big investment and that we cannot offer refunds for cancellations after the payment date and 2 week cooling off period due to illness or unforseen circumstances, we recommend that you take out insurance, just as you would for a holiday, to cover you just in case.
13: We reserve the right to make changes to the line up due to illness and other unforeseen circumstances. We will always endeavour to replace a tutor, taken ill or unable to attend, with someone of a similar calibre. If that is not possible a percentage refund will be offered, if necessary, to compensate for the non attending tutor.
We are human after all.
If you have any concerns about this please do get in touch
[email protected]
14: If we, for any reason, have to cancel the retreat, then you will be entitled to a full refund.
I think that is all the serious information out of the way. We, the retreat organisers, have designed this event as a retreat as we want people to come and be able to completely immerse themselves in the craft for the week. We want this to be the most enjoyable way to spend time learning about a craft from great teaching to great accommodation, from great service to great food. We are endeavoring to cover everything we can but if you have any questions or feel that some info is missing then please do get in touch so one of us can answer your query.
Thank you for reading and if you are happy with everything and have no further questions then choose your room/cottage and take the plunge you will not be disappointed!
