2nd UK Spring Wire Retreat

This 2nd event was a little over ambitious as we attempted to run 2 events consecutively.  The event was fully booked only to see half the students drop out last minute.  Sadly we had to make some tough decisions and had to cancel Nicole Hanna.  (She came back in the autumn) and god ahead with a 6 day event with Imnium and Lonely Soldier Designs.  The 8 students that joined us were pushed hard with 2 demanding projects, the infamous Butterfly and the Prong Wrap pendant.  Their work was stunning with many of the students returning for their 2nd year.

Day 2 

Second day went very well with the butterflies taking shape and only a little bit of swearing!  Lonely Soldiers coils were proving a bit tricky but practice, patience and a little swearing.. sorry..perseverance won the day!

Day 3

This is the last day for each group of 4, Imnium's butterfly makers and Lonely's pendant wrappers have today to finish their pieces before they swap over. So there are a few stressed faces but the work is looking amazing!

Day 4

Tuesday was swap over day.  Everyone seemed to come back with renewed energy as they had either finished their pendant they were working on for the last few days or they put it to one side to work on the next piece.  

Day 5

Today the students were all well underway with their second projects, although 1 decided to finish her butterfly and it was a good decision as we saw the first finished and polished butterfly.  The students were really flying today and the work was flowing nicely.

Day 6

Last day of work and the finished pieces were beginning to emerge.  The students were beginning to see the fruits of their labours, despite being tired many worked into the night to get finished.  The students did an amazing job with 2 complex projects and the results speak for themselves.
